Live the Life you Want

I adore the idea of traveling with your soulmate. How lucky we are to be able to take this journey together. Jason and I have been researching and finalizing our plans for over a year now, and while the process became a bit grueling at times, we certainly ended up victorious. The preparation stage is over; arrangements have been made, visas have been applied for, backpacks, maps, medication and equipment have been purchased and we are just waiting to send it full force.
At this point, we are just 72 hours away from putting in our two weeks notice at work. The feeling is indescribable. The opportunity to say goodbye with no intention to return is terrifying yet absolutely thrilling. I am undoubtedly grateful for the people I’ve met, those who have introduced me into the American work force and witnessed my growth along the way. I’ve had such an invaluable and necessary experience over the past two years. These jobs have truly played a vital role in the decision to leave and contribute our time elsewhere. They have opened our eyes to so much more than we could have hoped for. They have allowed us to realize what matters most to us at such a vulnerable point in our lives. We will not let our 20s pass us by. We are determined to indulge ourselves in the places and cultures we so badly desire to be a part of.
When Friday passes and the exhilaration of quitting our jobs fades away, we will have just 21 days until we leave the brilliant San Diego area. We will head to Idaho where we will explore the great outdoors, spend time with family, and leave our vehicles for safekeeping. It will be a sad departure for us and it will be strange to think of the next inhabitants of our beloved apartment on Thomas Avenue. I plan to leave a little note behind the bedroom light switch plate in order to offer future renters a sweet story of our journey throughout Pacific Beach, how we found our way there, the progress we have made together, and the outline of where we hope to end up. The purpose is to bring inspiration and encouragement to someone someday.
Then its just 34 days until LAX ships us off to BKK. Unreal.
